Which file formats does Ebook Launch accept for editing or formatting?

If you’ve used Microsoft Word to write your book, simply send us your original Word file (.doc or .docx). This is the easiest and most reliable format for us to work with.

If you used another program, that’s no problem, we also accept:

• Apple Pages (.pages)
• Open Office (.odt)
• Rich Text Format (.rtf)
• Scrivener (.scriv)
• Plain text (.txt)

If your book is already in an ebook format (.epub, .mobi, or .html), we can still work with it, but we’ll need to convert it to Word first. This takes extra time and cost, so sending us your original writing file is always best.

Please note: We cannot work from PDF files (or Word files made from PDFs) as they don’t convert cleanly back to docx.
