Can I use the same PDF for pint file for both softcover and hardcover editions?

You can upload this file for the (Print) Softcover KDP edition as well as the Hardcover edition if the trim size is the same for both. 

If the trim size is different for the hardcover edition, then the book will need to be reformatted.

“Trim size” is the publisher's word for the book's size. Once the book is printed and bound, the book is “trimmed” so that the size of every page is the same.
