What kind of file should I send for formatting?

For formatting, Ebook Launch requires a Word document (doc/docx) or equivalent (ie. Open Office document (.odt), Pages document (.pages), etc).

Important note: We cannot use a PDF or a file created by converting a PDF.

Simply put, a file created with a converter is not the same as the original file that was used to create the PDF. For example, we've found that non-printing characters are inserted to maintain the text's appearance across platforms (and therefore appear in the converted file). Clean-up of converted files can be a inconsistent and time consuming process.
